Older, original route created in the early 60s connecting Omaha to Norfolk via Blair, Oakland and Wisner. Route superseded in late 60s/early 70s when facility north of Lyons was completed.
Tower, demolished circa 2005, was one of very few guyed microwave towers in the region (most were free-standing) along with sister towers in Blair and Wisner.
