AT&T Fort Wayne Office Collapse/Expand
Located at 411 East Berry Street. AT&T and Indiana Bell shared the building. The tower was built by Indiana Bell, and was designed to go into the upper floors of the building, where it was anchored to the third floor. The horn reflector on the tower's southwest corner was for an Indiana Bell video line from Indianapolis to Fort Wayne, while the drums and dishes were send/receive antennas for AT&T from Leo. Receive capabilities included messages and video, while only messages could be sent (unless a special video feed was provided).
The Indiana Bell video feed was also used for a short time by IPFW's communications program. Feeds were bounced to an antenna on the nearby GTE building (two blocks west of this site), and then sent to IPFW's campus.
The tower was taken down in early 2017, and the building currently sits vacant. AT&T signage was still at the front door as of May 2024.
